Finding Value

Every single one of us has value. We are all amazingly unique and individual creations. We are each born with purpose, an absolute one of a kind miracle, brought into this world with destiny and promise.

Yet for so many of us a point in time is reached, where all that life has thrown at us, what other people say to us and how they have treated us has left us feeling devalued and worthless.

We look at our lives, our circumstances, our past. We judge ourselves, our worth in this world by the mess we see, by the shame we feel, by the things we have had to do sometimes just to get through the day and as a result what we see in ourselves becomes the very thing we despise. The person we gaze upon in that mirror becomes a reflection, not of the person we try to pretend we are, but of the person we so desperately try to hide away from everyone else. The person we convince ourselves no one could ever love, the person we ourselves struggle to love.

Yet its in those moments, those times when its just us and the reality of our lives, those dark corners of our existence where the tears flow, the heart breaks and the pain is real that the God who is, the very One who says that we were " created in His image" and that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" longs to reach into, to wrap His arms around us, hold us to Himself whilst catching every precious tear. Its in the midst of such moments, when we have reached the very depths of the lonliness that haunts us, the despair that crushes us and the memories that condemn us where we begin to question our value, our worth and our purpose, His voice will speak to the very core of our being, His words will be whispered in our ear, without judgement, without critisism, without condemnation, to tell us of the unquestionable, undisputable, unwavering value we have in Him.

Because our true value, our true worth, our true purpose can only be found in Him. Because it was only Him that not only set the price, but it was also Him that paid it. And in doing so He declared that all humanity stands equal in value, all humanity has purpose, because every single one of us was worth the abuse, torture and death of Jesus Christ, His own son.

Blank Canvas Mission desires for you to know that the life you carry, the burdens that weigh you down, the picture that has been painted onto your canvas is not your portion. You like so many others can know what it is to walk in freedom, to stand tall, to know forgiveness, not just from God but from yourself also.

We would love to share with you how you can know that God not only loves you, but He also likes you just the way you are. He has purpose for you, a life for you and a future plan that, if you allow it, will knock your socks of.

Please take this oppurtunity to get in touch, allow us to pray for you, to tell you more about this Jesus and what your worth to Him.

Or come along to one of our events, where you can sit quietly and make your own mind up.

I would very much love to hear from you

'Not called!' did you say? 'Not heard the call,' I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father's house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face -- whose mercy you have professed to obey -- and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world."  -  William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army
